Weddings at The Golf Hotel

Congratulations

Your wedding day is a 'Special Day', and we at The Golf Hotel, recognise that this is one of the most important days in your life and that you want everything to be perfect.

Here at The Golf Hotel we want you to be free to enjoy every minute of your day, secure in the knowledge that every attention to detail is being looked after by profesionals who care.

You will be guided by our team every step of the way, whilst allowing you to be in control of your wedding plans.

Our banqueting rooms can be transformed from a formal Wedding Breakfast layout to an atmospheric, informal party setting for your Evening Reception.

We welcome you and your family to come and view the facilities of the Hotel and Aqua Sante Spa and see for yourselves why we have earned a fine reputation as one of the best wedding venues in the area.

We do hope this information is helpful in the preparations for your day and we look forward to welcoming you and your guests to The Golf Hotel.

Arrival

On arrival at the hotel you will be greeted on the red carpet by your host who will offer you a complimentary glass of champagne and then your guests will be welcomed and arrival drinks will be served.

Once the Bride and Groom have had time to relax and talk to their guests, the Wedding Breakfast will be announced.

A receiving line up is not a necessity. However, if you wish to have a formal receiving line, this will be carried out so you can meet your guests individually prior to being seated.

When all guests are seated, the Bride and Groom will be announced into the room by your master of ceremonies to the welcoming applause of your guests. Your Wedding Breakfast will then be served .

Cutting the Cake

After the main course has been cleared, the traditional cutting of the cake by the Bride and Groom will take place, and the cake will then be taken away to be cut up and served prior to your speeches.

Toast and Speeches

It is customary for the Best Man to call upon the father of the Bride or a close family friend to propose a toast to the future happines of the Bride and Groom. The Groom will then thank the father or close friend for the previous toast. The Groom should then follow this by thanking the Bride's parents for their daughter's hand in marriage, the guests for attending the wedding and for their wedding presents. The Best man responds on behalf of the Bridesmaids and follows this with a few witty anecdotes. During the speeches gifts and flowers may be given to family and friends that have helped organise the day.

Evening Reception

Sometimes numbers are limited at the Wedding Breakfast, and therefore the Bride and Groom like to exten their wedding day celebrations through to the evening. This is usually a more informal occasion when other friends can be invited and they can enjoy an evening of music, dancing and great food.

Wedding Package

In addition to your Wedding Package we provide within the Wedding Package rate, the following:-

Civil Marriage Ceremonies

Nowadays some couples choose to have a Civil Ceremony rather than a religious one, for a variety of personal reason, a civil ceremony is sometimes the only option a couple may have.

Here at The Golf Hotel we are able to carry out Civil Marriage Ceremonies in a number of our suites.

Having checked the availability of the suite of your choice with our Wedding Co-ordinator ou will need to contact the local Registrar's Office to arrange the Civil Ceremony. Any fees charged by the Registrar's Office are separate to those charged by the hotel for the Civil Ceremony, please contact the Registrar's Office for details of their charges.

On the day it will be necessary for the Bride and Groom to meet with the Registrar prior to the Civil Ceremony to confirm all the details on the notice of marriage.

The arrangements and content of the marriage ceremony must meet with the prior approval of the Superintendent Registrar of the District, Holmeleigh, Foundry Street, Horncastle, LN9 6AQ, telephone 0845 3301400.

The marriage must be solemnised in the premises, not in the grounds or marquee, and in the rooms approved for the licence. Any reading, music or performance which forms part of a ceremony of marriage msut be secular in nature. You will require two witnesses for the Civil Cermony.

If you wish to take a video or photographs on the day you will need to discuss this with the Registrar prior to the Civil Ceremony.

Public access to any ceremony of marriage solemnised in approved premises must be permitted withour charge. The Hotel charges £250 for Civil Ceremonies.

It is your day and every effort is made to meet your wishes.
